Nigel @ Carbeile School

Nigel started last week with a visit to Carbeile Junior School in Torpoint to speak to the children and staff about the charity and Ellie.

The school has been a big supporter of the charity, taking part in the rainbow mufti day, and some students made Ellie a special rainbow birthday card for her birthday.

Carbeile Welcome

On Monday, March 1st, Nigel spoke to the children in a whole school assembly – speaking to around 380 pupils. He told them about the charity, his vision and showed them the video and song that was created in conjunction with the 2010 rainbow mufti day.

The children were interested to learn about the equipment Nigel brought in and how Ellie breathes through a tube in her throat, and is fed through another tube that passes into her stomach.

Teacher, Natasha Garrad, said: ‘They found it really interesting and the staff were all amazed at how much they took on board.

‘They asked a lot of interesting questions and were keen to know all about Ellie and the charity.’

Nigel was presented with a pair of rainbow socks for Ellie from the school and some students made thank you cards for Nigel following his visit.

The school is planning future fundraising events to support the charity.
